چکیده
We have found that aggregation mode and gelation property of thymidine-based organogelator are affected by the addition of its complementary polynucleotide in organic media.

Double helix quinine-based supergelator.
10,11-Didehydroquinine is a simple, low molecular weight supergelator which forms, in nonpolar media, stable chiral organogels composed of unique double-helix nano-sized fibers. A novel gelation mechanism involves a hydrogen bonding network formed by an acidic alkyne proton of the Cinchona gelator and the carbonyl group of ethyl acetate used as a solvent.
متن کاملDifferences between β-Ala and Gly-Gly in the design of amino acids-based hydrogels
Despite the continuous interest in organogels and hydrogels of low molecular weight gelators (LMWG), establishing the relationship between the molecular structure and the gelation mechanism is still a challenge. In this paper our interest focuses on the consequences of slight molecular modifications on the self-assembling behaviour of β-Ala vs Gly-Gly-based hydrogelators. Previously, in our gro...
متن کاملAn efficient phase-selective gelator for aromatic solvents recovery based on a cyanostilbene amide derivative.
Two novel low molecular weight organogelators (LMOGs) 1 and 2 composed of a cholesteryl group, an amide group and various terminal cyanostilbene moieties were synthesized. They could form stable gels in p-xylene. In particular, 2 with more extended π-conjugation length showed remarkable gelation ability in many aromatic solvents, chloroform and chloroform-containing mixed solvents at a relative...
متن کاملStrong fluorescence emission induced by supramolecular assembly and gelation: luminescent organogel from nonemissive oxadiazole-based benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxamide gelator.
Supramolecular aggregation of a novel nonfluorescent gelator yields highly luminescent organogels in aprotic organic solvents through intermolecular hydrogen bonding, which is a key motif for both self-assembly and photophysical process control.
متن کاملIsomerism and Hydrogen Bonding in the Cis-enol Forms of 1-(n-pyridyl)butane-1,3-diones: A Theoretical Study
Molecular structure, isomerism, conformational stability and intramolecular hydrogen bonding (IHB) of cis-enol forms of 1-(n-pyridyl)butane-1,3-diones (nPBD) (n = 2, 3, or 4) have been investigated by means of density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Energy differences for all possible nPBD cis-enol forms of isomers with respect to the most stable form of the correspondin...
